Question
How does the Edge V3 alignment update when a student completes a new assessment or formative assessment?

Answer

The ELA and Math Edge alignments are based on the current school year Active Pulse scores.

For ELA Edge:  When another DORA assessment is completed, the alignment is updated automatically if there is a change in the Active Pulse score.  The ELA Edge program will update the lessons based on this new Active Pulse score.

For Math Edge: Since there are three different math assessments, the alignment is a little different if multiple assessments are completed.

  • If the same assessment is completed, the alignment is automatically updated if there is a change in the Active Pulse score.
  • Since the ADAM and Pre-Algebra assessments overlap in grade range, some of the content covered is the same.  Because of this, the alignment update is a little different.
    • If a student is enrolled in Math Edge based on the ADAM assessment and the following assessment is completed after the Edge enrollment:
      • ADAM - If there is a change in the Active Pulse score, the lessons will be updated based on the change.
      • Pre-Algebra - If there is a change in the Active Pulse score for ADAM based on the Pre-Algebra assessment, the lessons will update based on the change.
    • If a student is enrolled in Math Edge based on the Pre-Algebra assessment and then completes an ADAM assessment, there will be no change to the lessons because the student is enrolled based on the Pre-Algebra lesson track.
  • If a student is enrolled in Math Edge based on an Algebra assessment, the lessons will only update if another Algebra assessment is completed and there is a change in the Active Pulse score.

  • The ELA and Math Edge program will also update automatically, as needed, after a student has completed a Formative Skills-based and/or Sub-test test in ELA or Math.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
