Question
What is the test duration or length of ADAM?

Answer

The total test time for ADAM varies depending on the student's abilities. Typically, for students who are taking ADAM for the first time and are at or close to their grade level, the following list provides an estimated total test time.

As students continue to complete successive assessments, the tests will gradually become shorter as they pick up from the levels they previously attained.

Grade K: 10-15 minutes
Grade 1: 15-20 minutes
Grade 2: 30 minutes
Grade 3: 30-45 minutes
Grade 4: 45-60 minutes
Grade 5: 45-70 minutes
Grade 6: 60-100 minutes
Grade 7: 60-130 + minutes

Please note:

1.  Students who are performing below their current grade level may take longer to complete the assessment.  This is also true when students are queued to start below their grade level because all sub-tests will start at the queued grade level.   For more information about ADAM starting points, please click on the link below.

Students who spend more than 1-2 minutes on each question will also take longer to complete the assessment.  It is very important to read the "assessment scripts" to the students before they start the assessment.   Please click below for the link to the assessment scripts

Assessment Scripts

Please Note:  The assessment does not need to be completed in one sitting, we encourage breaks.  The progress is recorded in our database after each question is answered.  A student may take a break and come back to finish.  It is recommended the assessment be finished within 1 week.   If the assessment is not completed within 60 days it will be automatically terminated.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
