Let's Go Learn Knowledge Base
Why does my students' Edge usage seem low?
Students must complete a lesson for the usage to be recorded. If they need to stop before the end of the lesson, they must hit the "Exit" button. If they do not, then their time will not be recorded. Below are some best practices to read to your students:

1) Always click the "Exit" button when you need to stop before completing a lesson.

2) When finishing a lesson, you must let the end-of-lesson animation fully play. The system will complete the lesson and send you back to your Edge lesson map. If you click "Exit," your final score may not be recorded.

3) Never just close the browser tab or application. This will result in your time spent on a lesson not being recorded.

4) If you walk away from your instructional activity, your session may time out if you take too long. You will not know this until you finish the lesson. But you will get an error message that states that your session has timed out and your scores were not recorded.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quick Base often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quick Base finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quick Base needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
