For these students, colleges would want to use the
DOMA Pre-Algebra assessment. We have other customers using it for the same reason.
Sometimes the assessment is used to screen students for 9th-grade math, but some community colleges use it as well.
Note that DOMA Pre-Algebra is not a norm-referenced test. It is a criterion-referenced assessment covering roughly 4th to 8th-grade mathematics. So it has been validated for these math skills and will as a result provide teachers with a roadmap of skills mastered and not mastered.

Next, in practice, because DOMA Pre-Algebra covers roughly 4th to 8th-grade skills, it is a great assessment to see whether students have gaps in their foundational math skills. DOMA Algebra doesn't go into foundational math, so students should only take it if they have demonstrated mastery in DOMA Pre-Algebra.
