Many districts have used the DORA Profile letter score for ELL reclassification. The profile essentially sorts students' DORA scores into three groups: Decoding, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Students receive a letter score of A to H. Students with H profiles are "at" or "above" grade level in all three areas relative to their decimal grade.
How to View a Class by DORA Reading Profile
1. Go to the "Scores & Reports" tab and select "Active Pulse ELA"
2. After selecting the class to be examined, click on the "Class Profile" button.
3. View your class by its reading profile. Click on the letters on the left to view the specific students in each group.
Note: All Kindergarten students who take the DORA at the beginning of the school year (Sept, Oct), will receive a "H" profile letter. This is because in order to score "Low" in Decoding, Vocabulary or Comprehension a student must be 0.25 years below their grade level. When Kindergarten students test November or later, they may then be 0.25 or below their current grade level.
