Question
How do I assign/queue my students an assessment?

Answer

Assigning Assessments to Students

You can assign assessments to individual students or your entire class.  Follow the instructions below to get started.

Click on the Test Queue tab of your teacher account.

Assigning assessments for the whole class:

  • Choose the class you wish to assess and click “Change Class.
  • Click on "Manage Class Queue"
    • Comprehensive Diagnostics
      • Click on "Select test" and select from the tests on the drop down menu.

  • Once queued, you will be able to view the number of students Queued & In Progress.

Once the steps above have been completed, students can log in using their unique student login or the teacher can log them in from the teacher account.

Assigning assessments for an individual student:

  • Click the “Add/Edit” button next to the individual student to be assessed.
    • Comprehensive Diagnostics
      • Click on "Select test" and select from the tests on the drop down menu.

  • Click on the "Queue" button.

Note: When queuing an individual student, you have the ability to override the grade the test starts from.  This is ideally designed for students with IEPs whose instructional grade is significantly less than their actual grade (like a 5th grader that's working on a 2nd grade level).  The tests will still adapt up or down based on how a student answers. However, familiar content will appear immediately instead of a student having to potentially answer a series of questions before seeing problems at their level of ability. Note: Once a student has tested at least once on DORA or ADAM, the test will pick up where the student left off the last time they tested, so the need for overriding the grade level is not as important.  However, make sure that if a student has an IEP, that you abide by whatever modifications are required by it.

  • Once queued, the status will show "Ready".

Once the steps above have been completed, students can log in using their unique student login or the teacher can log them in from the teacher account.

How does a student being an assessment?

Important Note:  Assessments must be started/finished within 60 days of being queued or they will be automatically terminated.  Assessments lose their validity if not completed within a timely manner.

**When assigning ADAM - for the majority of the students, you can leave the target grade as "default" because it is an adaptive assessment which will adjust to students' abilities.  You also have the option to adjust the starting grade level for students with IEP's.  Click Here for directions or click on file named "How do I use the ADAM queue for students with IEPs?" in the Attachments section below.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
